WHAT DOES COACHING CERTIFICATION ENTAIL?

USA Triathlon coaches typically design triathlete training plans geared toward the athlete’s needs as well as provide sport specific training and daily progressive workouts. Coaches cater to the athlete’s needs, based on their schedule, age, skill level, goals, fitness level and mental preparation. Coaches teach the inner workings of swimming, cycling and running passed down from USA Triathlon organization’s most esteemed mentors. Your coach will not just train you physically, but will also provide information on nutrition & mental skills, two vital aspects in mastering the sport of triathlon. Once certified at Level 1, coaches have an opportunity to advance their education within the USA Triathlon coaching family through continuing education seminars and additional certifications like Youth and Junior, Level II, or as high as Level III (elite athlete coach).
